I’ve said before that an entrepreneur’s brain is her business.
For us business owners, creation mode revolves around a mix of in-your-head inspiration and grounded action-taking. Think of it as the Yin-Yang for productive creativity.
2 Keys to a Productive Creation Mode
1) Sparking ideas
The point of a creative day is to spark ideas that get your blood pumping and make you excited to deliver them to your community.
Eating for inspiration
To generate uplifting energy for creative inspiration, eat meals full of fresh foods like fruit and veggies. These foods are quicker to digest and will leave you feeling light on your feet.
2) Making those ideas concrete
But what makes it a business is plucking those ideas out of your head and incorporating them into a product or service.
Eating for implementation
Taking action on your creative ideas requires grounding energy that brings you back down to earth. To build grounding energy, eat meals with warming, cooked foods like root veggies, grains, and beans. These foods help you focus and make you feel more solid.
A Sample Meal Plan for Creativity:
Here’s a sneak peak at the personalized Plant-Powered Meal Plan I created last week for a lovely client who is deep in creation mode.
I included tons of fresh, raw foods during the day to keep her energy humming. But I grounded these meals with hearty ingredients to allow her creativity to hit the page and take shape in the real world.
This day starts with a smoothie – nutrient dense to provide her brain the vitamins and minerals it needs to function at full speed. But with greens and hempseed to anchor that energy into productivity.
BREAKFAST: UPLIFTING ENERGY SMOOTHIE
blended banana, apples, hempseed, romaine, and my secret creamy “green” ingredient 😉 (let me know if you want me to share that secret in a future post)
Then for lunch, a salad with a sweet and fresh dressing, also very energy-enhancing. Full of vitamins to keep the energy flowing, but grounded with millet to make her feel satisfied and rooted.
LUNCH: SWEET & TANGY SALAD
tossed with 1 cup spiced millet and this dressing
Then almonds as a healthy fat & protein to ground the high energy of the apple.
SNACK: APPLE & ALMONDS

Dinner is a warm soup to ground her energy at the end of the work day and help her turn off the zip of ideas to transition to her personal time in the evening. It’s based on leftovers since creative days often run long.
DINNER: KALE BEAN SOUP
with revived energy from adding fresh greens and living sauerkraut (unpasteurized for probiotics)
Now, that’s not so hard, is it?
All super-easy to make, delicious to eat, and energy-boosting for a super-charged workday. After all, my meal plans are designed around easy strategies to streamline kitchen time.
