Cool Adria! Looks like you’ve been busy!! It would be great to phase out the macaroni and cheese in this house. Amaya would live on it if I let her.
Ha ha, Jill. Yes, mac and cheese is a toughie. I include a “Mac ‘n’ Cheezy Spaghetti Squash” recipe in the cookbook. It’s all whole foods (vegan) ingredients but still has the rich, heartiness we crave.

I’m really excited about this book as I’ve recently begun eating a much higher volume of raw fruits and veg. I would love some tips on how best to find a balance between raw and cooked foods.
Hi Ali, Nice to see you over here on the blog, outside of Instagram! Congrats on increasing your fruits and veggies. Finding a balance between raw and cooked foods (and between wellness and life in general) is a big focus on this blog. My latest article talked about 5 benefits from eating just HIGH raw rather than 100%. Best, Adria

I am excited to check out this new cookbook! A friend of mine, Tay Tay, recommended it since I was just recently diagnosed as gluten intolerant. I am trying all sorts of new recipes and open to new ideas on how to still eat well and steer clear of gluten. Eating mostly raw seems like it might be a totally viable option for me, and help my husband and I stay on a healthy eating path!
Hi Niki, Welcome to my website! I’m so glad you found me. On a day-to-day basis, I eat gluten-free and don’t even notice it so you’ve come to the right place. Gluten sneaks into most processed foods, so this is the great thing about eating more raw and, really, focusing on whole foods! Adria

I’ve been “high raw” for years and never even knew it…loads of fresh fruits and veggies balanced with cooked meals. I suppose it’s a continuum…when the farmers’ market is open I’m def’ly hanging on the coolraw side, and in winter, rolling more towards the hotcooked meals side. Congrats on the cookbook…I’d love to have a copy! ๐
Hey thepeacepatch! I know exactly what you mean – it’s really just called a healthy diet, right? I use the term “High Raw” so that people will understand exactly what I’m talking about – as humans, we love labels! My diet also changes with the seasons. ๐ Adria

Hi Susan – thanks!
I’m just starting my high raw journey. For the last six months, I been paying attention to what i eat and how I feel. I find when I stick with lots of raw fruits and veggies, limited cooked veggies, beans and grains, I feel much better. I started from a place of ill-health, and I can feel my body starting to heal in the last few weeks. However, I still struggle with simple, veggie -filled, healthful dinners. I believe your cookbook could help me–I’d love a copy! Thanks for all I have already learned from you. I also much appreciate your honesty.
Hey Michelle, Thanks! Honesty and openness is a key value to me at Healthy Vegas Vegan. Sounds like you are getting in touch with your body, and that’s great! Definitely, when people come out of illness and poor health, it seems to be even more important to eat clean. If you read my interview with Heather Nicholds, Registered Holistic Nutritionist, from last summer, we talked about starting out with a stricter diet as you heal yourself and then eventually finding a healthy balance where you may be able to add some of those foods back in.

I’m trying to achieve a healthier lifestyle. This book could teach me more about a high raw diet, because I’m pretty clueless! I’ve been following your blog, but I’m still learning. There’s so much information that I could benefit from. The recipes sound great!
Hi Jacqui, Nice to hear from you again. ๐ There is so much to learn, but remember that every single positive change you implement in your journey makes a difference! This is why I limited the recipes in the cookbook to 20 so that you could use this as a template to build on. And not be so overwhelmed with which recipe to make that you never make any of them. Cheers! Adria

I came across your blog just a few days ago. It’s very inspiring and down to earth ๐ thanks for the information!
It’s great to see someone else with a normal day to day job on this journey.

I’m feeling fairly clueless at the moment, and always talk myself out of going raw due to money/time constraints but I really want to do something about my health. My fybromyalgia has gotten worse and it’s time to change! I guess I see the book as a framework to sort myself out
Hey Rachel, that’s the perfect description of the book – to be used as a framework for making positive change! Just remember that there really is no “going raw”. Every step you take and small change you implement will make a difference. You can start today by just eating some extra fresh fruits or veggies! Just take a step at a time – no stress. ๐
