Savory Raw Dinner Recipes – My Favorite “Cooking” Video

A lot of you have asked what is my favorite this or that for creating my own clean lifestyle.

I want to share with you my go-to raw recipe video and accompanying ebook.

Squash Spaghetti Raw Marinara
First take a look at the raw pasta I made last night with a raw marinara recipe from this video. This was definitely the best I’ve ever made and it rocked my world!

SAVORY RAW DINNER RECIPES digital videos and ebook The DVD Set

Breakfast is easy when you’re eating raw – green smoothie or a big bowl of cut-up fruit.  Lunch is even simpler – greens with whatever fruit I have on hand chopped and thrown together.

Now dinner – that requires a little work.  That’s when the veggies come into play, and I have a little more time in the evening to be creative.  I usually make something  that’s more “meal”-like – sauces, wraps, dressings.  When I want a sure thing, I turn to this sweet digital video and ebook package from Veronica Grace: Savory Raw Dinner Recipes.

I’m such a nerd that I LOVE watching cooking shows. I’m a visual learner, and though I will use recipes, I prefer to not need to.  Once I see the entire process of a chef preparing a recipe, I can go into the kitchen and try it out without looking at a cookbook.

The videos are sent to you in a digital file – there is no physical DVD.  This means that you get them immediately, as soon as you purchase them.  So you could be watching them in a half hour.  How cool.

When I sit down to watch a cooking show, I always prepare myself with a snack because I know they’ll make me hungry!  But, for a vegan, you don’t really have very many show options because I definitely don’t want to be staring at a chef hacking up a poor animal on the Food Network as I munch on popcorn. For low fat raw vegan cuisine, there isn’t much availability beyond downloading 5-minute YouTube videos.

So, you can imagine my excitement when I found out about these digital videos – I just had to order them.  And watch them.  Several times.  There’s almost 3 hours of footage there, and it’s really professional quality and fun to watch.  I usually watch parts at a time and will re-watch recipes that I might want to make in the future.

For those of you who think low fat raw vegan can’t be gourmet, take a look at the photos below of dishes you can make with Veronica’s recipes.

The package comes with an ebook of all the recipes.  I printed out a copy plus loaded it into my kindle so I can refer back to a recipe as I make dinner.   The pdf has an interactive index of recipes so you can click on the title you want, and go directly to the page it’s on.

Here’s me making that Raw Spaghetti Marinara last night with my handy kindle ebook for reference.

I wanted to share this video/ebook package with you because I am totally not a chef.  For the most part I’m an assembler, and a lot of you want recipes!  True, I do post some of my go-to creations with you from time to time on HealthyV, but mostly I’d rather refer you to the pros.  Veronica, the Low Fat Vegan Chef, is one of those!

Here’s a selection of just some of the recipes in the ebook, all lower fat than the traditional high-fat raw food diet:

Also remember that I’m not a gourmet – a foodie, yes, but when I get in the kitchen I usually only like to follow a recipe if its uncomplicated.  This book has plenty of HealthyV-approved simple dishes.

I want to share a couple of the recipes I have made (and scarfed down!) from Savory Raw Dinner Recipes.

Salad spinach strawberry pecan
My own version of Veronica’s Strawberry Spinach Pecan Salad.

The Strawberry Spinach Pecan Salad is actually a dish I bring to potlucks, and people love it.  I also often use a variation of the dressing as a sauce on anything – salad, wraps, etc.

Savory Plum Soup VGrace
Veronica’s Sweet and Savory Black Plum Soup à la HealthyV

Now that stone fruit is in season at the farmers market, I’ve been looking for recipes for my some of my favorite fruits – plums and peaches.  I saw a recipe for Sweet and Savory Black Plum Soup in her video, and I had to try it!  It didn’t disappoint.

In fact, looking at this photo makes me think maybe I should try it again… nah – actually what I should do is make another recipe from her book!  I’m slowly working my way through it.

Now your turn.  What’s your favorite raw recipe video or book that features fresh fruits and veggies?  Leave it in the comments below.

  1. I’ve wondered about that cookbook before. Hard to find savory recipes for LFRV.

I’m a pretty good raw “cook” now, but I love watching videos and reading books for inspiration. Some of my favorites include: Megan Elizabeth from Easy to be Raw and Fully Raw Kristina. Tara from 40 Below Fruity also shares recipes often. Freelee shares recipes once in a while. Those are all low fat raw ppl. Russell James is really good too but not low fat. Sexy Raw Vegan and Rawgantic Vegan are also good resources. Young and Raw has some good ones too.

There r so many great resources!

    • I also love watching Megan and Kristina’s videos! Good additional resources – thanks for sharing Veronica.

  3. I was looking on google and found your page! I hadn’t seen it before. Thanks for recommending my raw recipes. I think you’ve inspired quite a few people. I made this recipes a while ago before there were many 80/10/10 low fat raw recipes around. And I have to say they are really the only raw recipes I make I like them so much I have no need for any others!

    • Veronica, I’m glad (and flattered) you found me and commented here! I’m really glad you made that ebook/dvd. Most of the time I’m just randomly winging it, but if I want to make sure it actually tastes good, I’ll use your recipes. 🙂
