4 Healthy Workweek Habits I’m Committing to in 2015

You’ve got a BIG vision for the year ahead, and it excites you.

Yet, you’re looking down at your notes for what you want to accomplish in your business during 2015, and you feel a pang of anxiety creep up.

You don’t want it to be like last year.

Falling off the wagon each time you hit a stressful deadline. Fueling your body with less than optimal food because it seems like the fastest option. Skipping your gym time during the workweek because you just can’t pull away from the project you’re working on.

Then you take a look at your New Year’s resolution to bring more energy to your work, to eat healthier, and to take care of yourself better.

But amongst everything on your to-do list – the incredible goals you want to accomplish in the new year – you just can’t imagine how it’s actually possible to fit in healthy living.

I’ve got your number. Know why? Because I AM YOU.

I’m here to tell you it IS possible to make healthy living part of your business plan.

So let’s start thinking about your healthy living strategy for 2015.

In case you need a little inspiration, I thought I’d share a glimpse into my own strategy.

My own personal Healthy Living Strategy for an energized, positive 2015:

  1. Keep plenty of greens in my fridge.

    I feel more energetic and lighter on my feet when I eat my morning smoothie and daily salads. (Try my free 3-minute morning meal plan for a supercharged workweek ahead!)

  2. Remind myself that food is abundant and I can have more later.

    I don’t have to eat it all at once. I can indulge in my sister’s delicious vegan oat-date squares, but remember my WHY for stopping at just one – to avoid a sugar hangover the next morning 😉

  3. Move my body. Every. Single. Day.

    I remind myself to add in little pockets of movement throughout the day – stretch each time I get up from the computer, do jumping jacks when I’m feeling groggy, go for a walk to work through a problem. It keeps my energy flowing. A couple of fully sedentary days in a row – especially sitting in front of my laptop – and my energy stagnates, making me sluggish.

  4. Add strength training sessions to my calendar.

    Specifically on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 9am. Setting appointments with myself allows me to prioritize it. I’m proud of my muscles and being strong gets me more rooted in my physical body, makes me feel powerful. Bonus – it also keeps the fire of my metabolism burning!

And that’s enough to focus on, for now.

It’s okay if you don’t hit the ground running on January 1st. Sometimes, it takes a little bit to wind up and build the momentum that will push us through the year.

This lull when you’re not yet in full go-mode is the perfect time to plan out a healthy living strategy, one made up of just a few easy steps.

Seriously, your healthy living strategy can be this simple – in fact, the whole point is that it’s something you’ll actually follow. We’re not cracking into a bank vault, we’re forming stress-free healthy habits that last! This is exactly what I work with clients on so I know you’ve got this.

    • LOVE it Alex!! I may be a bit biased, but I think that’s a GREAT habit in the spirit of keeping it simple – sometimes the habit can be to keep doing something you know works!!

  2. I need to work on moving more. We’re in the time of year where I really struggle. I don’t belong to a gym, and when it’s really, really cold like today, I can’t do anything strenuous or I can’t breathe. So working on remembering to dance or bring in the kids trampoline and get jumping. Today, I walked out in the bright cold sunshine.

  3. Halo ! Wanted to say-that im soo thankful u have made this page i can really relate to every single thing that you say! I felt really down today because i started this lifestyle but havent found nyone that could help,because the other people didnt make sense,and weren’t realistic. Because I KNOW i cant eat unlimmited amounts, and now ive picked up some weight,but YOU gave me hope again,soo good to see someone real, i only need that amount of cals as well,especially if i want to lose weight.im still trying to get the free book.But hope to read more of you,and Thank You so much=now theres hope
